The FAQ below is subject to change as we move closer to the convention.

When is Tora-Con?
Tora-Con 2012 runs from April 21st to April 22nd.

Where is Tora-Con?
Tora-Con is located on the RIT campus. Directions can be found here.

Will there be day-of registration?
Yes. However, there will be a slight price increase, and we often reach our attendance cap. By pre-registering, you ensure entry to both days of the convention.

Is there an attendance cap?
Yes. For each day, we can only have up to 2,500 attendees per day.

What if I only want to attend on Saturday only? Sunday only?
Pre-registration is only for both days of the convention. Even if you only plan on attending one day of the convention, we encourage you to pre-register for the convention.

Can I confirm I am pre-registered?
Yes. If you have any questions about your registration, please contact our Registration department.

Do I need to bring a form of ID?
If you are picking up your pre-reg form, then yes (so we know who you are). If you are intending on staying for our late night events (9pm and later), we will need an ID which can prove your age to be over 18 on April 20th, 2012.

What forms of ID do you accept?
For picking up pre-registration badges, we would like a photo ID of some sorts. This can include, but not limited to:

  • Driver's License
  • Driver's Permit
  • Enhanced Driver's License
  • Government issued ID card
  • Passport
  • School ID

For attending late night events, your ID will need to prove your age.

Do I need to bring the confirmation e-mail if I pre-registered?
Nope. We have all of your information already on file. Just bring some form of ID, as mentioned above. If you didn't receive a confirmation e-mail, that's fine as well. Some e-mails have bounced, or were entered incorrectly. But again, you do not need to bring this e-mail.

Where can I find parking?
We recommend the following Parking Lots: D, E, F, U
You can park in spots that are labeled as "Reserved Monday-Friday" for Tora-Con.
You do not need to acquire a visitor parking pass.
You can not park in the following spaces (unless you have the proper RIT permit):

  • Administration Spaces
  • 20 minute parking
  • Short Term parking
  • Visitor parking
  • Loading Bays, or unmarked spaces near such areas

(For additional information see the following: http://facilities.rit.edu/pats/parking/)

You can find a map of the RIT Campus here. Pre-Registration Badge pickup and Registration for Tora-Con will be in the SAU building (F-6 on the map in the link).

Also, there will be no use of the drop-off circle in front of the SAU. This is by the request of RIT's Public Safety. If you need to be dropped off and are looking for a meeting point, we recommend the use of Parking Lot D.

There are several other events at RIT during the weekend and it is expected that Parking Lot D will fill up early on Saturday morning. Please use Parking Lots E, F, or U, if that is the case.
